A refined two-stage model designed for colorimetric assessment of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) was developed. This model incorporated an S-shaped nonlinear function, utilizing four coefficients per channel, specifically tailored to accurately represent the tone reproduction curve (TRC). Furthermore, a linear transfer matrix was integrated alongside a black-level correction mechanism. For comparative analysis, an identical LCD panel was subjected to characterization, and subsequent color discrepancies were meticulously calculated when contrasted against several alternative models: the simple model (SM), the gain-offset-gain (GOG) approach, an S-curve representation, and three one-dimensional look-up tables (3-1D LUTs).
