Continuous-time decision feedback equalizers, adaptive cable equalizers using a continuous-time filter, and low power delay buffers between the equalizer and slicer stages are also mentioned. Adaptive continuous time linear equalizers can adjust their transfer functions based on programmable adaptation patterns or compensate for first post-cursor intersymbol interference (ISI). Enhanced equalization methods that combine reduced complexity maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) with linear equalizers are discussed, especially useful in heavily ISI-induced signals. An apparatus and method for passive continuous-time linear equalization is detailed along with a circuit for receiving input signals. Additionally, the document covers an analog continuous-time phase equalizer designed for data transmission as well as methods to reduce clock jitter in communication systems.
