Heres how it works: 1. Navigate to any public repository page on GitHub. 2. Choose one of two options: - Right-click (context menu) and select Download. - Double-click a project and click the download button in the bottom right corner. 3. Monitor your progress dashboard until your browser triggers the download. 4. Retrieve your zip file. If you encounter rate limit warnings on the progress dashboard, obtain a GitHub API access token to upgrade your rate limits: 1. Click Gitzips extension icon in your browser. 2. Choose Normal or Private links next to “get token.” 3. Authorize Gitzip permissions on Github Auth page. 4. Return to the repository page and continue using. Gitzip collects data, including author names, repo details, folder structure, and file information for Google Analytics purposes to track usage patterns and identify suitable repositories for this tool. Recent revisions include handling dark mode and fixing issues during page changes.
