The course covers 22 .NET memory dump analysis patterns as well as an additional 11 unmanaged patterns. Participants will learn how to analyze crashes and freezes in CLR 4 .NET applications and services, navigate through managed and unmanaged code within the memory dump space, diagnose issues such as corruption, leaks, CPU spikes, blocked threads, deadlocks, wait chains, resource contention, and more.
The training includes practical step-by-step exercises using Microsoft WinDbg debugger to diagnose patterns in 64-bit and 32-bit process memory dumps. It employs a unique pattern-oriented analysis approach designed to accelerate learning. The third edition has been fully updated to use the latest version of WinDbg and Windows 10, while also incorporating nine optional legacy exercises from previous editions that cover CLR versions 2 and 4 as well as operating systems such as Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Prerequisites for this training include basic knowledge of .NET programming and debugging.
