Key functions provided by the RCS Commander include: - Data exchange between SINUMERIK systems and PCs. - Creation and restoration of images from CompactFlash Cards to save data. - Writing images onto a CompactFlash Card. - Direct loading of commissioning files to or from the control system, aiding in setup processes. - Management of NC (Numerical Control) data on the control system. This includes copying files directly between PC and NC as well as monitoring processes and remotely controlling SINUMERIK systems via remote control features. - Saving current HMI views as screens on PCs for better representation of the control system, which also aids in troubleshooting errors. Additionally, it allows users to edit specific user files in OFFLINE mode on their PC: - PLC alarm texts (oem_alarms_plc) - Cycle alarm texts (oem_alarms_cycles) - Part program messages (oem_partprogram_messages) - EasyScreen files - Tool management texts - EasyExtend files (oem_aggregate) - Maintenance planner files (oem_maintenance) Furthermore, the RCS Commander offers project management capabilities: - Creating projects OFFLINE. - Automatically copying necessary files from control systems to projects or vice versa. - Copying individual files between control systems and projects via dialog boxes. - Deleting user files using project dialogs on the control system.
