Gear Noise and Vibrations探讨了齿轮系统中噪音和振动产生的机理、评估方法及减缓策略,旨在提高机械装置的性能与寿命。
Since the first edition, there have been many changes in the equipment available for measurements. The growing interest in Transmission Error measurement has led to numerous approaches that are not always clearly described. Each author tends to highlight the advantages of their approach but rarely mentions corresponding disadvantages, so I have attempted to compare different systems. A range of new issues from industry has generated some interesting additional topics.
I have also added discussions on less common yet puzzling topics such as high contact ratio gears which are increasingly being used to reduce noise. Testing procedures are discussed in more detail along with practical problems and a slightly extended description of potential failures and their relationship, or lack thereof, to noise issues.
I hope that few errors or mistakes have crept into the book but if readers discover any, I would be very grateful if they could inform me (e-mail: jds1002@eng.cam.ac.uk).
