The Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program (WASP6) is an enhanced version of the original WASP. This model aids users in interpreting and predicting water quality responses to both natural phenomena and human-induced pollution, assisting them in making various pollution management decisions.
WASP6 is a dynamic compartment-modeling program designed for aquatic systems, encompassing both the water column and the benthic layer beneath it. The software allows users to investigate one-dimensional, two-dimensional, or three-dimensional systems as well as different types of pollutants. Time-varying processes such as advection, dispersion, point-source and diffuse mass loading, and boundary exchange are all modeled.
Additionally, WASP can be integrated with hydrodynamic and sediment transport models which provide data on flow rates, depths, velocities, temperature, salinity, and sediment fluxes.
